Caregivers coming to Canada from various foreign countries can now apply for Canadian Permanent Residence ship. Also, two new pilot programs are launched. These are- the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot. The underlying two new pilot programs will evaluate the caregivers for permanent residence ship before they come to Canada. Endorsed caregivers will get an occupation-specific work grant to change employers without applying for another work license. Likewise, life partners and customary law accomplices of caregivers will be permitted open work licenses. The dependent children can avail study grants. Therefore families of the caregiver can even accompany them to Canada.

These experimental runs projects will trade the Caring for Children and Caring for People with High Medical Needs pilots, which have been criticized for keeping a few specialists stuck in harsh working environments and separated from their families abroad. The Liberal government in 2014 marked these new pilots as inadequate.

The administration expresses that the changes made in 2014 were not evident. Caregivers found that they were not qualified for permanent residence under a current program. The program will have adjusted criteria contrasted with the present test cases and offer a pathway to permanent habitation for caregivers who, by honesty, have come to Canada and are giving care to Canadians, because of the misunderstanding of receiving permanent residence.

Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Ahmed Hussein stated, “Caregivers provide care to families in Canada that need it. Now it’s time for Canada to care for them in return. We are providing them with both the opportunity to bring their family members here. we also [rovide access permanent residency to demonstrate our commitment.”
